ROPE & BELT THERAPY FOR Lower back PAIN

Lumbar spine (lower back) bears the weight of head, arms and trunk (HAT).  Para spinal muscles (erector spinae) support this skeleton. Prolonged sitting or standing leads to shortening of erector spinae which causes stiffness in lumbar region and also increases compressive load on intervertebral discs and facetal joints. This leads to degeneration of spine called lumbar Spondylosis which can result in slip / herniated disc, Sciatica, radiculopathy. RBT helps in restoring your lower back health by reducing the exessiver lordosis which in turn reduces the pressure on posterior part of your spine. Followin are the key principals of RBT for lumbar health restoration

HOW DOES ROPE & BELT THERAPY WORK ON Back

Optimizing Lumbar Lordosis

Optimizing Lumbosacral angle

Optimizing Lumbosacral angle

Lumbar spine has lordotic curvature which is increased or lost during back pain. If the Lordosis is more, the degeneration of the spine is faster and when it is less it makes your lower back stiff. Rope and belt therapy helps in Optimizing Lumbar Lordosis so that flexibility of the lumbar spine is increased / maintained

Optimizing Lumbosacral angle

Optimizing Lumbosacral angle

Optimizing Lumbosacral angle

Lumbosacral angle, angle between sacrum and L5 vertebra , plays a crucial role in spine mobility. The degree of the angle varies with the position of the pelvis and affects the superimposed lumbar curvature. Rope and belt therapy reduces Lumbosacral angle helping in correcting posture for back health.

intervertebral foramen size

Optimizing Lumbosacral angle

Strengthening of spinal muscles

Excessive lordosis leads to decrease in size of intervertebral foramen  Disc bulge typically compresses these nerves coming out of this foramen. Rope and belt therapy postures are designed to work on facetal joints to faciliatate the foramen size increase reducing pressure on the nerve relieving the radiating pain in the leg.

Strengthening of spinal muscles

Correction of adaptive shortening of muscles

Strengthening of spinal muscles

Lumbar spine is supported by ligaments and a lot muscles in front, at sides and at back. The hoop formed supports lumbar spine in various challenging actions in day to day life activities . Lack of strength leads to early degenerative changes in spine / disc leading to low back ache. RBT helps in restoring this strength.

Correction of adaptive shortening of muscles

Correction of adaptive shortening of muscles

Our postural muscles like erector spinae undergo adaptive shortening due to exessive use. Scientific stretching of these muscles helps in restoring the optimum length of these muscles which helps in reducing the load on spine helping in back ache relief

Restoration of Pelvic mobility

Correction of adaptive shortening of muscles

Pelvic mobility and lumbar flexibility are interlinked. If the Pelvic is fixed, lumbar flexibility is lost causing stiffness and lower back pain. Rope and belt therapy increases mobility of pelvic by ambulatory Pelvic lift belt and by ropes in lumbar traction.
